Megan Ix, an associate with Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber, P.A., is an attorney who handles corporate, commercial and general civil litigation for small business owners, companies and individuals. Her broad practice encompasses cases involving breach of contract claims, partnership disputes, employment law, insurance coverage and real estate disputes for clients that include developers, contractors, property management companies and other businesses in the Baltimore-Washington area.
Highly skilled in researching contracts and assessing risk, Megan works with businesses on a variety of employee relations and employment contract matters, including evaluating noncompete and nonsolicitation clauses, protecting confidential and proprietary information, and securing trade secrets. She advises clients on real estate development issues and works to find practical solutions to any disputes that arise. Megan also researches insurance policies to determine general liability coverages for specific types of claims.
With an eye for detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind, Megan proactively advises on the interpretation of contract clauses and, where necessary, advises on contract modifications or changes in employment agreements that are designed to better protect clients' interests and avoid future disputes. When litigation is already ongoing, she uses her skills to thoroughly evaluate the case and provide research and strategic guidance. She also applies her research and technical background to conduct e-discovery in preparation for litigation.
Megan earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, graduating magna cum laude while serving as the manuscripts editor of the Maryland Law Review, the vice president of the Moot Court Board and a member of the Order of the Coif. She completed her undergraduate studies at Duke University. As a teaching assistant at the University of Maryland School of Law, Megan helps aspiring lawyers prepare for the bar.
Before joining Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber, P.A., Megan worked in the risk management department of the Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland, a medical malpractice insurance company, where she advised private physicians and dentists on legal and practical matters, and developed seminars on risk mitigation and legal compliance. She also worked as a legal research assistant at the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security investigating issues related to health care and cybersecurity.
