Stanford D. Hess, a principal with Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber, P.A., is a corporate finance attorney who advises companies and individuals on matters ranging from sophisticated business planning and acquisitions to commercial real estate sales and financings. He is particularly focused on matters associated with the automobile industry.
Drawing on more than 50 years of experience practicing law, Stanford advises clients on creative ways to achieve their goals. His clients include high-net-worth individuals involved in business and real estate transactions throughout Baltimore as well as automotive dealers, general contractors and banking institutions doing business throughout the Mid-Atlantic region .
Stanford's diverse representations include handling a $125-million-dollar land acquisition portfolio; successfully defending a hostile takeover of a banking institution; advising on purchases and development of numerous automobile dealerships; and counseling on the acquisition of property and its subsequent leasing to a Wegmans food store. His representation of corporations includes structuring acquisitions, preparing buy-sell agreements, drafting contracts, and advising on various business, regulatory and legal issues.
Stanford holds a coveted AV peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by Best Lawyers. He served as chairman of the State Commission to Study the Regulatory Structure of Banking, Savings and Loan, and Small Loan Industries. He also served as a member of the Governor's Advisory Panel to Study the Movement Toward Electronic Funds Transfer.
Following his graduation from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he earned his LL.B. in 1966, Stanford spent five years in the Maryland Attorney General's Office, including three years as chief counsel to the Department of Licensing Regulation. He received his B.A. from the University of Maryland in 1964.
